Photography by Larry St. Pierre  It was while traveling the world working as a chef that I bought my first SLR camera and started studying photography as a hobby. After three years of travel and work in Europe, Southeast Asia and Australia, I decided it was time to come home and pursue photography as a profession.Based in Mystic, Connecticut I work on assignment as a staff photographer for The Westerly Sun Newspaper out of Westerly, Rhode Island and for The Mystic River Press, a weekly out of Mystic. For 1½ year, I also wrote a bimonthly column on outdoor photography for The Westerly Sun's Sunday edition. In addition to newspaper photography I also do freelance commercial work, weddings and teach photo workshops for both children and adults. All of the images shown here were created in and around Mystic, CT using a Canon 100mm f2.8 macro lens on a Canon EOS-1, A2 or Elan. Kodak Elitechrome or Ektachrome 100 ISO slide films were used.
